Carla is passionate about helping people in this community. She currently works at Early Childhood Cares and has been volunteering for Springfield AYSO off and on for 30 years. Carla is a proud mother and now grandmother of two Springfield AYSO soccer players.
Tom Bakker – Assistant Regional Commissioner

About Tom
Tom has been volunteering with Springfield AYSO off and on for the last 10 years or so. Tom first started coaching his kids and then has returned to help the next generation enjoy the sport. Tom built the current version of our AYSO website and has been an integral part of the recent transformation of Springfield AYSO. We are so happy to have Tom as part of our team.

Brian has been volunteering with Springfield AYSO in multiple capacities for 20+ years including as its Regional Coordinator. He started out coaching his kids and now enjoys helping the little ones in the Pre-School Program.
Jason Castanza – Registrar & Safety Coordinator

About Jason
Jason has been coaching and helping AYSO for many years. He played on AYSO soccer teams when he was his kid’s age and continued in soccer through high school and on a college club team. Jason and his family live in Springfield and are involved in a lot of community activities. You can find him biking, hiking, and fly fishing with his kids when he isn’t helping as our Registrar.

About Amber
Amber and her 3 kids in the program are still fairly new to Springfield AYSO but they have loved the experience so much that she has volunteered to join the board. She loves seeing all the kids playing outside and interacting with each other in such a positive way. Outside of soccer Amber works for Columbia Care as a qualified mental health associate.

About Ashley
Ashley is majoring in linguistics at the University of Oregon. She is currently working with the youth science program SPICE helping local underrepresented children learn science. Ashley played AYSO soccer here in Springfield as a kid and is excited to help the next generation of local soccer players.
Tobias Policha – Coach Administrator

About Tobias
Tobias has been coaching for Springfield AYSO since 2022 and embraces the organization’s positive philosophies. By day, he educates as a biology instructor at the University of Oregon. Come evening, he eagerly shares his passion for soccer. Beyond the soccer field, Tobias enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, engaging in activities like hiking, biking, camping, and tending to their home garden.

About Jen
After only one season of soccer with her son, Jen decided she was all-in and going to embrace her soccer-mom era. She now has 2 kids in soccer and is excited to help AYSO with marketing, communications and sponsorships. She’s excited to work with the board and welcomes all the feedback on making the website, social media, and emails the best they can be to ensure a good experience with AYSO.
